NBA announces 5 postponements; Next 2 Celtics games in jeopardy

The Celtics are scheduled to host the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow in Boston. The 76ers just had their game tonight vs the Pelicans postponed. Boston then is scheduled to host the Cleveland Cavaliers to complete their home stand on Wednesday, but the Cavs had their game postponed today as well. They were scheduled to face the Atlanta Hawks.

The Cavs have suddenly become decimated by COVID. As of now their game in Boston on Wednesday is still on, but it wouldn't be surprising at all if it's postponed as well.

Regarding tomorrow's game versus the 76ers, there is more optimism since Philly couldn't play today due to a combination of injuries and COVID (Not just COVID). While Andre Drummond, Shake Milton, and Georges Niang are all in the NBA's Health and Safety Protocols, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Danny Green were all listed as "questionable" for today's game due to various injuries.

Sounds like if no additional 76ers players enter Health and Safety Protocols before tomorrow's game, that game will be played. The Cavs having seven players out due to Health and Safety Protocols is a bigger concern. Still three days until Wednesday, but that also gives more time for additional players to be added to the becoming less and less exclusive NBA COVID club.

The Celtics next game after this home stand is Christmas day in Milwaukee. We will keep you posted.
