Knicks outlast Celtics in double overtime season opener 138-134

Former Celtics guard Evan Fournier caught fire in overtime to lead the Knicks past the Celtics in the season opener. Until he lost his legs in the overtimes, Jaylen Brown (career high 46 points) couldn't seem to miss. Problem was that Jayson Tatum couldn't seem to make.

The Knicks blew a late 4th quarter lead and Marcus Smart hit a 3 to send the game into overtime. Then at the end of the first overtime, Tatum missed an isolation 3. The Celtics seemed to be all gassed out in the 2nd overtime. They will rest up and be back in action for their home opener on Friday versus the Raptors.

The Knicks were led by Julius Randle and Evan Fournier with 35 and 32 points respectively.
