Celtics use open roster spot obtained by waiving Jabari Parker to sign... Jabari Parker

Turns out those of us who are fans of Jabari Parker will get to continue cheering for him in a Celtics uniform.

Jabari Parker has agreed on a new deal to re-sign with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Parker cleared waivers at 5 p.m. ET.

By waiving Parker the Celtics risked that another team would pick him up off waivers, but when he passed through the Celtics were able to come to terms with Jabari on a new deal. If you're wondering why Brad Stevens and Boston waived Jabari in the first place, it like many things, was about money. The Celtics are now positioned to save about a half a million in luxury tax after the recent waiving and re-signing.
