Jayson Tatum says he didn't make the decision to play in Orlando until a few days ago
Yesterday we wrote about how Jaylen Brown initially was apprehensive about going to Orlando. Today his Jay sidekick, Jayson Tatum also says he was unsure. Tatum's reluctance was due to both family and social justice reasons.
Jayson Tatum: "I was very unsure (about playing in Orlando). I didn't make my decision until a few days ago, still not excited about it. Being away from my son from two or three months, that's what's really bothering me." #Celtics— gary washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) July 7, 2020
Jayson Tatum on taking part in Orlando: "I was very unsure. I don't really think I made a decision until probably a few days ago...I'm still not thrilled about it with what we are fighting for in social justice and equality and the virus...and missing family."— Brian Robb (@BrianTRobb) July 7, 2020
The Celtics full roster is in Orlando and will face the Thunder in a scrimmage in just 17 days.
Tatum: "If we're going to go down there, we might as well win a championship. That's our goal and our focus. We're going down there and trying to win." #Celtics
