Sources: The ex-US surgeon general Vivek Murthy delivered NBA Board of Governors call a message consistent with other credible health organizations on grim potential impact of coronavirus pandemic in U.S., but left owners with hope of re-starting season/playoffs before July.
It seems like everyday the news just gets worse and worse (Well it has. NBA and otherwise). You know first the potential of playing without fans, then the season being suspended. Then hearing the suspension would be 30 days. Then quickly hearing the NBA would be back in mid to late June at the earliest. So we'll take what we can get in regards to what's considered "good news."
Before the NBA could return for regular season games and the playoffs there would need to be some time for the players to get back into game shape. The NBA doesn't want to return and all of a sudden see stars get injured the first round of the playoffs. So we have more or less the rest of March plus April and May to get this pandemic under control. I wouldn't count on NBA basketball in June, but hearing that there's still a chance gives us hope.
