Video: Kendrick Perkins bashes Kyrie Irving for disrespecting Boston and the Celtics
"In this series I think the way Kyrie went about it was disrespectful to the city of Boston, disrespectful to the organization and he didn't represent what Celtic Pride is all about... He was a bad leader and it was proven he's not a Batman." — @KendrickPerkins pic.twitter.com/OcUQG8rJ6V— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) May 9, 2019
Tell us how you really feel Kendrick? I will say this. It's not hard to be a star and be beloved by Boston fans. Just leave everything on the floor, accept some responsibility as a leader when things aren't going well, say that you want to remain in Boston, and don't be super moody. The difference between Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie was that Thomas checked all of those boxes and Boston fans LOVED him. I do think that Irving gave full effort, but the last three areas he failed in.
It's not that Kyrie shit the bed the final 4 games of the playoffs. It's that his stats were the only thing going for him. He hadn't built up mutual respect with Celtics fans, to fail like he did, skirt responsibly and everyone will still love him.
