Boston Celtics present, and past, all-athletic lineups

NBA players back in the 60's and 70's weren't generally athletic, in the quick-as-lightning, jump-through-the-ceiling sense. There were a few on past Celtics teams, but we have them in abundance in this 2018-19 crew.

Dee Brown, Greg Minor, Dominique Wilkins, Xavier McDaniel, and Acie Earl is probably the reigning "most athletic possible Celtics lineup from history" and that's kind of sad.

Hard to argue with the present group of Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Semi Ojeleye and Rob Williams - and when is that Timelord moniker going to go away? Candidates from previous Boston teams is more problematic. Dee Brown and Dominique Wilkins are certainly there. Greg Minor, Xavier McDaniel and Ecie Earl? I'm not so sure.

Frankly, I would replace the latter three with Kedrick Brown, Gerald Green and Bill Russell. Yes, Russell. He was a superb athlete before his time. Kedrick never did much in the NBA, but was definitely a fine athlete. Gerald Green probably belongs there too.
