Report: Celtics expected to sign Marcus Georges-Hunt to training camp roster
ESPN is reporting that Marcus Georges-Hunt may be about to join the Celtics at their pre-season training camp. The 20-man roster is currently full, so if the report is correct, Boston would be required to drop a player from the ranks.
The uncertainty surrounding Jabari Bird's legal issues, contract and future with Celtics could impact Georges-Hunt's opportunity to eventually land on regular season roster. There's no telling the timing or resolution for Bird with Celtics. https://t.co/o6bWAH5DBc

The first name that comes to mind is Jabari Bird. His status with the team remains on hold for now. Bird is dealing with very serious felony charges and is apart from the team. Both the Celtics and the League thus far have made no decision on Jabari's fate, and his future remains in Limbo. He is currently signed to one of Boston's 15-man roster spots.
Important to note that Boston doesn't have an open roster spot. They'll have to waive a player in order to sign Marcus Georges-Hunt. That could be one of the three camp players (Justin Bibbs, Nick King or Jeff Roberson) or it could be Jabari Bird. Something to keep an eye on.

Georges-Hunt is a 24-year-old, 6'5" shooting guard who has spent time with the G-League Maine Red Claws. His addition to training camp would most likely mean one of the most-recent additions (Justin Bibbs, Nick King and Jeff Roberson) would be waived. Waiving Bird would open up both the training camp slot and full-time roster spot.
Marcus Georges-Hunt will soon join the Celtics for camp, according to a source, confirming the report from @WojESPN. MGH camped with the Celtics a couple years back. He played 42 games for Minnesota last season.
