Gordon Hayward is running and doing basketball activities - great news
This is great news coming out of the Celtics camp. Gordon Hayward seems right on schedule to start the upcoming season at full health. He must be delighted.
After the initial surgery to repair a broken and dislocated ankle, he underwent a second procedure to remove the supporting hardware from the injury site. After a period of time to allow the bone to strengthen, he seems ready to hit the court running.
He has started running again and doing basketball activities and I am sure his body and mind feel great to be back again.
Danny Ainge says that Gordon Hayward has started running and doing basketball activities again. "It feels great." https://t.co/IyDtmEUkgi— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) July 2, 2018
Danny Ainge has stated, per BostonGlobe.com's Adam Himmelsbach, “Before he left, he was running out on the basketball court, he was back to resuming basketball activities. It feels great.”
Gordon also had this to say via his blog:
“Once I get started, I’ll be jogging, then running, and then cutting and moving, and all that could happen within one to two weeks of each other, to where by the end of July I am playing full court, five-on-five basketball,” he wrote. “And that’s probably the most exciting thing I could tell all of you.”
We only got to see Hayward for less than six minutes during the past regular season. Celtics fans want to see him and his teammates for a full season, including playoffs all the way to the Finals. Most analysts are tabbing Boston as a powerhouse. That's what I see.
