Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will both participate in the Rising Stars Challenge

Boston Celtics fans already had a lot to look forward to for next February's All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. Knowing star point-guard, Kyrie Irving, and veteran leader, Al Horford, had been named to represent the Eastern Conference in the game, it was pretty cool to hear that the pair will be going up against each other during the tilt as they were drafted to different squads.

Fans around Boston received some more good news today in regard to All-Star weekend as both high-flying swingman, Jaylen Brown, and rookie phenom, Jayson Tatum, will be appearing in the Rising Stars Challenge.

Having started the event in 1994, the game has become a yearly opportunity for up-and-coming players across the NBA to showcase their talents. This is especially nice for teams from smaller markets as their players get a lot of attention they typically wouldn't receive during a regular season bout. We know this not to be the case here in Boston as both the Celtics' young bucks who will be participating have made quite the name for themselves this year.

Brown has made vast improvements in his game from just his first season already having made strides developing consistency shooting the ball and especially on the other end. Arguably one of the teams new defensive savants, on a lot of nights, Jaylen is tasked with guarding the other team's best scorer and he's handled it pretty well. And as for Tatum, well ... what hasn't been said yet?

As seen in the tweet above, the rosters this year for the RSC are both highlighted with a lot of the league's young, star talent. Along with last year's top pick and leading Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Ben Simmons, the field also will include last year's ROTY, Malcolm Brogdon, along with other big names from the youth movement like Donovan Mitchell, Joel Embiid, and Lonzo Ball.

It should be nice to see the two young Celtics playing against some of these players and more importantly just being able to experience such a great event during such a great weekend. But as a whole, it has to be sweet for fans of the Green with knowledge that four of their guys will be heading across country for the festivities.

For Celtic fans interested in watching it, the game will be played on Friday, February 16th, at 9 PM on TNT. There will be a practice held during the day at 12:30 for some of these young stars to show off their talents in a shootaround on NBA TV as well. Let's hope our guys have an awesome weekend in LA.
