Shane Larkin takes down the opposition, Alan Ladd-like
Danny Ainge prefers length and versatility in his players, but quite often what is needed is a player of any shape or size to come in and make things happen. That is what 5'11.5" Shane Larkin did last night in the Celtics victory over the Denver Nuggets. He poured in 14 points in only 17 minutes and was a perfect six-of-six from the floor, including two-of-two from beyond the arc. He added three boards, two assists, two steals and one block.
Shane Larkin finished with 14 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting (2-2 3-PT), marking the first time in his NBA career that he's scored 14+ points without missing a shot

He feasted on the Manimal, Kenneth Faried, a bit with a beautiful feed to Daniel Theis for a layup with Faried close behind. And Shane's successful baseline drive with Faried draped all over him was very Isaiah-like. Larkin is just plain energy personified. He was everywhere on defense and unstoppable on offense.
#Celtics coach Brad Stevens: I think Shane Larkin's pressure defense really turned the game for us tonight. He's sparked us a couple times this year like that.

Shane's namesake, played by 5'6" Alan Ladd in the classic western, was a quiet, patient individual until he had to take down the gunfighter played by Jack Palance. Sounds like Shane Larkin waiting patiently until he is called upon to take on the opposition. He did a great job of it last night. Quiet patience pays off. There will be sequels.
