High school superstar R. J. Barrett and powerhouse Montverde dominate Beach Ball Classic


R. J. Barrett is the top-rated high school basketball player in the nation, and he finished his visit to the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC in strong fashion. His team, Montverde Academy (FL), rated number one in the country, destroyed previously-undefeated Long Island Lutheran (NY) by a score of 70-42. Barrett had a line of 27 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block. He shot 10/21 on field goals and 2/4 on threes. He was truly dominant, as was his entire team. You can see that Barrett has NBA written all over him. Montverde is a powerhouse. They have three players in the top-100 high schoolers in the nation. They also have 5'11" Trevin Wade who can be seen winning the Slam Dunk Competition. That kid can get up.





It was a very exciting tournament. I hope to be back next year.
