Gordon Hayward throws out first pitch at Fenway Park

The new Celtics star Gordon Hayward hasn't even stepped in front of a home crowd at TD Garden yet, but he already understands how much Boston loves their sports. While Hayward will soon be sprayed with cheers on opening night, he got a little glimpse of what's to come in Boston when he threw out the first pitch at Fenway Park.

The Fenway Faithful gave the 27-year-old a warm welcome to his new city:

Hayward came straight from the team's training camp in Rhode Island to make an appearance on the pregame show, throw out the first pitch, and of course, enjoy some Red Sox baseball on a beautiful night:

By the way, according to his Instagram story, Gordon has monstah seats. Truly embracing the culture of the City of Champions!

While being at Fenway gave Hayward a little preview of the vibrant sports culture in Bean Town, he already fully understood just how much fans care about their sports. Just look at what he posted on his blog the other day:

Playing in Boston is definitely going to be a big change. It’s a much larger place than either Indianapolis—where I grew up—and Utah, and there are teams in every major American sport, so they’re sports-crazed in a way that I’ve never really experienced.

This is the second new Celtic player to have the honor of throwing out the first pitch - Jayson Tatum did so on September 10.

Also, this is Hayward's second time coming to Fenway this summer. He was brought on a special tour with his wife during free-agency, where there was a video presentation awaiting them.
