Anthony Davis is NOT going to Boston...for now

BROW2BOS may be a popular talking point in some circles, but at least on the official face of things, that's not a trade in the works according to the man himself, Anthony Davis.

Speaking with reporters after hosting a basketball camp for local children, Davis was asked what some of the weirdest questions he'd been asked at his camp were. He thought about it for a second, and replied (per the New Orleans Times-Picayune's William Guillory):

"I get asked all types of random stuff ...the craziest was if I was going to Boston ...Once I first heard (the rumors), then I heard it again, then I heard it again, I just wanted to make sure. I found out it wasn't (true), and that was the beginning of the summer, so I haven't paid attention to it since."

He was making a joke, but made a point of saying neither Dell Demps (the New Orleans Pelicans general manager) nor his agent were aware of any such moves in the works after talking to them this offseason, contrary to rumors being spread by the likes of Chris Mannix and others.

The Boston Celtics are of course a probable destination should the relationship between Davis and the Pels go south (and it very well could, given they have placed much of their future in the hands of DeMarcus Cousins), but for now, it seems all parties are in on the twin-towers plan built around Davis and Cousins.

So, it may be the offseason - a ripe time for unsubstantiated rumor if ever there was one - but at least for the moment, you can return to your cold beers, grilling, beach bumming, or whatever it is you do to stay busy when the parquet floor is getting a new coat, and the players get some time off.
