Celtics sign Guerschon Yabusele

The Boston Celtics have signed forward Guerschon Yabusele.

The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but after the news Boston would sign former Brooklyn Nets guard Shane Larkin to a guaranteed deal - putting the roster at 16 guaranteed deals - much speculation about Danny Ainge's plans (and how Yabusele would fit into them) was sparked. The deal, presumably also guaranteed, puts to rest any possibility of stashing the forward for another season, which would have likely been unpalatable to the patient French big man, who played overseas in China last season while waiting for a roster spot with the Celtics.

Yabusele was drafted 16th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, and averaged 20.9 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.3 steals and 1 block per game during his stay in China. He also briefly appeared with the Maine Red Claws in the NBA D-League (now "G"-League), averaging 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game with the Red Claws.
