Ainge explains the rationale for the Avery Bradley for Marcus Morris trade
I thought this was good from Ainge explaining some of the rationale for Bradley trade beyond money. Cs are going to be big & versatile: pic.twitter.com/FwvdcxxTQb

Danny Ainge on Avery Bradley: “I love the kid. This is not fun. I think everybody knows Avery has been one of my favorites."

The Celtics obviously needed to move a rotation player for cap reasons this season. Ainge above tries to explain the trade for basketball reasons. Celtics could now go big at the 2 guard position to offset having to go small at the point guard and big man positions. That makes sense, but without AB around, Thomas is going to have to step up his defensive effort. I know previously he's had such an offensive burden that maybe it didn't leave him with enough energy on defense, but now with more offensive firepower on the team, that can hopefully change.
