Paul Pierce plans to retire next summer, sign with Celtics to end career

Today, speaking to CineSport’s Justin Termine, Paul Pierce stated he will sign with Boston over the summer to retire a Celtic.

Pierce’s comments come as little surprise to many. With his game having taken a serious step back last season, and after recent words from Doc Rivers and others suggesting such a move back to Boston could be on the horizon, confirmation from the Hall of Fame wing seems to signal it’s only a matter of how going forward.

No word yet from the Celtics front office on Pierce’s comments, but keep an eye out for this developing story line over the season.
