Celtics sign Marcus Georges-Hunt to training camp deal, camp roster now at 19 (max is 20)
From CSNNE.com:
Marcus Georges-Hunt, a 6-5 guard from Georgia Tech who played on the Brooklyn Nets Summer League team, has joined a crowded Celtics roster and agreed to a non-guaranteed training camp deal.
As a senior at Georgia Tech last season, Georges-Hunt averaged 16.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. The 22-year-old went undrafted before landing on the Nets summer squad.
Georges-Hunt is just a body to help fill out Boston's 20-man training camp roster (similar to Coty Clarke, Levi Randolph, Malcolm Miller and Corey Walden a year ago), which now stands at 19. Assuming Danny Ainge doesn't make a trade, we can expect to see one more signing along these lines before camp starts.
There's a chance Abdel Nader may land the final spot, although the C's are hoping he'll sign directly with the Maine Red Claws so they can keep his draft rights without placing him on the 15-man regular season roster.
Here's a full explanation of the Nader conundrum.
