Celtics take Providence's Ben Bentil at No. 51, Abdel Nader from Iowa St. at No. 58
It's not going to change Celtics fans' opinions of this draft, but Boston appears to have done a lot better late in the second round by nabbing Demetrius Jackson 45th and Ben Bentil 51st:
The Celtics are getting some great value in 2nd round. Competition for roster spots is going to be fierce in October.— Brian Robb (@CelticsHub) June 24, 2016
#Celtics take Ben Bentil of Providence with the 51st pick, another good value. Fans will love Bentil and Jackson.— gary washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) June 24, 2016
Bentil is a 6'8" power forward who averaged 21.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season for the Friars.
Celtics take Providence F Ben Bentil at No. 51. Big time scorer. Can stretch floor. Again, great value here. Deep 2nd round.— Chad Ford (@chadfordinsider) June 24, 2016
#Celtics Danny Ainge on Ben Bentil: He's a good shooter, and a quick shooter, and an unconscious shooter, which is a good thing. #ProJoDraft— Scott Souza (@Scott_Souza) June 24, 2016
Here's a draft profile video Celtics.com released on Bentil last week:
Abdel Nader is a 6'6" forward born in Egypt who put up 12.9 points and 5.0 rebounds as a senior for the Cyclones. He didn't get the same rave reviews on Twitter, but he did once dunk in a game if this local Omaha TV station video is legit:
