30 Years in 30 Days: Day 27- The Hall of Fame quotes

Mike Krzyzewski and David Robinson share a few things in common.  They were both a part of the Dream Team that won the Gold Medal in the Olympics in 1992, Coach K an assistant coach and Robinson a center.  They’re both members of the Basketball Hall of Fame, inducted in 2009 and 2008 respectively.  And they both had pretty flattering quotes about Len Bias.

First Robinson, whose 13th seed Navy met up against Bias’ 5th seeded Terrapins in the second round
of the 1985 NCAA tournament.  David scored 22, Bias tallied 20 and the Terrapins won by five, but “The Admiral” took away plenty:
"My confidence just went through the roof at that point, and I just realized, ‘You know what, there's nobody that I cannot play with,’" David said.

As for Coach K? His quote was back in 2004:
This is my 24th year at Duke," says coach Mike Krzyzewski, "and in that time there have been two opposing players who have really stood out: Michael Jordan and Len Bias. Len was an amazing athlete with great competitiveness. My feeling is that he would have been one of the top players in the NBA. He created things. People associate the term `playmaking' with point guards. But I consider a playmaker as someone who can do things others can't, the way Jordan did. Bias was like that. He could invent ways to score, and there was nothing you could do about it. No matter how you defended him, he could make a play."

And who knows, had Lenny lived, maybe he would’ve found a place on that 92 Dream Team, alongside Coach K and Robinson.
