Jae Crowder doesn't think the Celtics need a superstar
Boston forward Jae Crowder has decided that the Celtics don't need a superstar because, well... the starting unit is already one big superstar. Via Adam Himmelsbach:
Both Jae Crowder and Evan Turner were seemingly protective of the team's roster yesterday at practice. The two argued that as it stands now, there might not be a need for a trade. In a post on MassLive, Jay King said:Crowder: "There’s a lot of talk about we need a superstar..But all 5 guys on the court are so locked in & so engaged that we’re 1 superstar"— Adam Himmelsbach (@AdamHimmelsbach) February 18, 2016
Evan Turner called chemistry and camaraderie "everything," adding that Boston is "trying to get home court advantage, and we'll go to the playoffs, and we'll rock out from there."
The Celtics this season clearly have great chemistry. We'll see if Crowder's and Turner's words will sway Danny Ainge to let this core stay together for the rest of the season.
But worst case scenario if the current lineup gets shaken up by trades, you can always remember these Celtics as a superhero squad thanks to Kyle George:
