Around the NBA 12/12: Things Celtics fans should know from last night

While the Celtics lost an absolute heartbreaker in double-overtime to the Warriors, there were 20 other teams in action.  Here are some things you should know:

1. The Nets were idle and are 7-15, but this pick still received some help as the Pelicans defeated the Wizards last night.  Although Brooklyn still has the fourth worst record in the NBA, they are now only one game ahead of New Orleans.  The Celtics own the Nets 2016 first-round draft pick.

2. The Timberwolves lost in overtime to the Nuggets and are now 9-13.  Minnesota will convey their first-round pick to the Celtics only if it falls between 13-30.  If Minnesota's pick falls between 1-12, they will instead convey their second-round picks in 2016 and 2017.  Thus, this pick would NOT be conveyed if the season were to end today.

3. The Mavericks were idle and are 13-10, which has them tied with the Clippers for the fourth seed.   Dallas will convey their first-round pick to the Celtics only if it falls between 8-30.  If Dallas' pick falls between 1-7, the conditional 2016 pick will become a 2017 first-round pick with the same conditions.  Thus, this pick would be conveyed if the season were to end today.

4. The 76ers lost the Pistons 107-95.

5. The Celtics lost a tough one in double-overtime to the Warriors 124-119.

6. The Raptors defeated the Bucks 90-93.

Atlantic Division as of 12/12
Toronto 15-9
Boston 13-10 - 1.5 Games Back
New York 10-14
Brooklyn 7-15
Philadelphia 1-23

7. Gerald Green played 28 minutes in the Heat's loss to the Pacers last night.  He finished with 13 points and 3 rebounds.

8. The Hornets are really, really good and demonstrated that in yet another East-over-West win last night as they defeated the Grizzlies in Memphis.  Jeff Green started and finished with 6 points and 3 rebounds in 26 minutes.  Tony Allen started as well and finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds in 30 minutes.

9. Kevin Garnett started in the Timberwolves loss to the Nuggets.  He finished with 2 points and 5 rebounds in 12 minutes.

10. Brandon Bass only played 5 minutes in the Lakers loss to the Spurs last night, but finished with 6 points.
