Marcus Smart out for tonight's game vs Wizards, Amir Johnson will suit up
Marcus Smart will not play tonight for the Celtics. Amir Johnson will.
Amir Johnson is playing. Marcus Smart is not. Smart day to day. Walking boot a conservative measure per Stevens.— Jay King (@ByJayKing) November 6, 2015
The injury seems to be minor, but the team has every reason to be cautious so early in the season. Last year Smart was hampered by sprained ankle and never fully regained his explosiveness. The Celtics don't play again until Tuesday's tilt in Milwaukee, which hopefully will give the starting point guard enough time to recover and make his return to the lineup.
With Amir Johnson ready to play, Brad Stevens will run with the same starting lineup he employed against the Pacers Wednesday night.
The Celtics will go with the same starting lineup tonight as they did Wednesday night: Thomas, Bradley, Crowder, Johnson, Sullinger.— Boston Celtics (@celtics) November 6, 2015
Tip-off is 7:30 at the Garden. The Celtics have their hands full with the Wall/Beal backcourt, let's see if they can get back on track tonight.
