Gerald Wallace deserves a better fate than this
Just four days after the Celtics official acquired David Lee from the world-champion Warriors in exchange for Chris Babb and Gerald Wallace, Golden State turned around and dealt Wallace to the lowly 76ers:
OFFICIAL: #Warriors acquire F Jason Thompson (@jtthekid) from @Sixers in exchange for Gerald Wallace, cash & draft considerations.

Even though we think of Wallace as a senior citizen in the NBA, he only turned 33 years old last month. I doubt he'll consider retirement rather than suiting up in Philly, but if he does, there likely will be very little fanfare:
Friends of Gerald Wallace often say: When he is done, don't expect to hear from him again. Back to 'Bama to live the quiet life.

True story: He built a 2 1/2 acre lake in his backyard, named it Gerald Wallace Lake and fishes from his backporch. https://t.co/nZWBu5gMPr

In true CelticsLife fashion, the banner of the Warriors reddit page is dedicated exclusively to Wallace, even now that he's long gone:
