Magic will not offer the max to rumored Celtics' target Tobias Harris
The Celtics' free agency hasn't gotten off to the best start. But, things may be looking up:
Have been told the #Magic will not match a max offer to Tobias Harris, so the market value has been set. #Celtics— gary washburn (@GwashburnGlobe) July 1, 2015
Harris is still only 22 and would be a pretty nice addition to a Celtics team in need of players who can put it in the basket. Encouraging to see an Orlando beat writer being less than psyched at the prospect of Harris jumping ship to a team like the Celtics.
The news that Orlando is not going to offer Harris the max is strong indication that they think they can lure Paul Millsap from Atlanta.
Sources: @Paulmillsap4 met w/Orlando last night, was offered Mac 4 yr, $80 million deal. Millsap will decide Btwn ATL & Orl.— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 1, 2015
Atlanta doesn't have Millsap's bird rights, so Orlando is not at a disadvantage in courting the Hawks star. Could be a tough free agency for Hawks fans after DeMarre Carroll bolted for the north a few hours ago.
#WeThe North I will be playing for Toronto Raptors next year!!!! I'm Blessed for this Opportunity!… https://t.co/pBK6NvRVcE
