Celtics select Marcus Thornton with pick No. 45 (yeah, a different Marcus Thornton)
No this isn't a joke. Danny Ainge wasn't just thinking "Hey we don't have 38 guards yet, what's the name of another guard I know?"
Marcus Thornton (Williams & Mary), who worked out for the Celtics, taken at Pick No. 45. Big 3-point shooter.

This Marcus Thornton is the first player in 30 years to be drafted out of William and Mary. A 6'3" point guard, he's the school's all-time scoring leader who DraftExpress ranked No. 83 out of their top 100.
It sounds as though the Celtics may have actually decided a couple days ago to grab Thornton with this pick. He reportedly worked out for the team twice and had an individual sit-down with Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens on Tuesday.
