Kevin McHale becomes only person to mount 3-1 series comeback as both coach and player

Kevin McHale and the Rockets took down Doc Rivers' Clippers yesterday to complete a historic comeback.
Celtics legend and current head coach of the Rockets Kevin McHale added to his extensive list of accomplishments yesterday by capping off a 3-1 comeback against the Clippers. According to USA Today, the Rockets' effort marks only the ninth time in NBA history that a team down 3-1 has battled back to win a series.

Even more impressive, the 3-1 comeback is McHale's second:

He overcame the same feat as a player on the 1980-81 Celtics down 3-1 to the Philadelphia 76ers in the conference finals. The Celtics would go on to win the NBA championship that year.

McHale and the Rockets will look to continue their success against the NBA's best Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Game 1 takes place on Tuesday at 9 PM ET.
