Afternoon Delight: Breaking: Celtics Trade Jerome Moiso and Jiri Welsch for 5+ Future Picks… And I’m Pissed
Uggghhhhhhhh!!! I promised myself I wasn’t going to post any more guest pieces after my last post bombed, but I’m fucking livid right now and I needed a place to vent. WHAT THE HELL IS AINGE DOING?! In the past month, he’s dumped superstars Jerome Moiso and Jiri Welsch for what amounts to a stack of “IOU” notes. I mean, we basically just threw away Moiso an Welsch, the cornerstones of our franchise, for monopoly money. I can’t believe this. This is garbage. Ainge gets lucky with 1 championship and suddenly the guy has the authority to do whatever he wants with our proud team. How is this guy not fired yet?! UGGGHHHH!!
I mean… Moiso is basically the French Michael Jordan. A 6-10, 240 pound French Michael Jordan with crazy athleticism and unlimited potential. Jiri Welsch is essentially a “6-7 Larry Bird. Kid’s a Stah! BOOK IT!”. And we gave up those phenoms for WHAT??
2015 first round draft pick from Dallas

2015 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Boston (via Phoenix) protected for selections 1-12 in 2015 and 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Boston by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Boston
-Some Memphis 1st round pick we probably will not even see until 2019
So like… basically what will amount to 5 draft picks + whatever extra paper money trader-Danny squeezes out of these deals before we hopefully fire him for negligence.
*Sigh*. You grow up with these guys, get to know them, you feel like their family… and then you have to see them moved for nothing. It’s a real shame.
I’ll miss Moiso. I remember when we drafted in him 2000 with the #11 pick. I remember when we traded him in 2001 for Philly’s 2003 1st rounder. I remember in 2003 when we selected Dahntay Jones with that pick (#20). I remember when then traded Jones to Memphis for Kendrick Perkins (selected #27). I remember when we traded Kendrick Perkins for Jeff Green.
I’ll miss Jiri Welsch even more. I remember in 2003 when he was one of the multiple pieces we received for “superstar” Antoine Walker. I remember in 2005 when we traded Jiri for the Cavs 2007 1st rounder. I remember in 2006 when we traded that pick (which became Rudy Fernandez) to the Suns for the player they took #21… some scrub named Rajon Rondo.
This is unacceptable. I watched Moiso and Welsch blossom before my eyes and now they are gone. Today I shall lament the loss of both players and look forward to a day when Danny Ainge isn’t destroying this team with his ceaseless tomfoolery.
