Video: Mavs defeat Spurs in Rajon Rondo debut
The Mavs were victorious in Rajon Rondo's first game in Dallas 99 to 93. Rondo finished with 6 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. If there were any questions on how Monta Ellis would do in a backcourt with Rondo (These date back all the way to 2010 when the Celtics were reportedly after Monta) those were laid to rest as Ellis led everyone with 38 points (4 steals as well).
It's worth noting that these were far from the World Champion Spurs the Mavs were facing. After a couple straight triple overtime losses, Popovich sat all his key guys. Their starting line-up tonight would make the 76ers jealous. Cory Joseph, Marco Belinelli, Kyle Anderson, Aron Baynes and Boris Diaw. Pop is such a good coach though that part of me thinks he could get 30 wins out of the putrid 76ers, which of course would drive the 76ers management bonkers. Overall not a dominant performance by Rajon in his first game in Dallas, but a win is a win, and the man just got there, so still needs time to learn Carlisle's system.
