Rajon Rondo scores season-high 21 points in best Mavs game yet

Last night Rajon Rondo posted a season-high 21 points in the Mavericks' 102-98 home win over the Kobe-less Lakers.  Rondo shot 10-for-17 from the floor (.588), tying his most field goal attempts in a game this year and setting a new high for made baskets.  He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists.

Through four games in Dallas Rondo is putting up 13.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists.  His rebounding and assist numbers are down slightly from his averages of 7.5 and 10.8 with Boston this season, but his scoring is way up (8.3 PPG with the Celtics).

The Mavericks haven't played particularly well with their new point guard--they're 2-2 with close wins over the Spurs bench and the Lakers, and losses at home vs. Atlanta and in Phoenix.  Yesterday's victory was more encouraging than the final score indicates though.  A Rondo three-pointer with 3:56 to go put Dallas up 95-79, but a barrage of threes from L.A. down the stretch made things interesting.
