Jeff Green, Vitor Faverani to miss tonight's preseason opener
The Celtics kick off the preseason tonight when they host the 76ers at the TD Garden. Today the team announced that both Jeff Green and Vitor Faverani will sit with minor injuries.
Faverani has been battling swelling in his knee throughout training camp. Green suffered a mild calf strain during Friday night's scrimmage. Marcus Smart also missed practice yesterday with a groin strain, and according to Brad Stevens was "questionable or probable" for this evening (via ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg).
Whether or not Smart can go, with both Green and Rajon Rondo out, there's a good chance Evan Turner may start at either point guard or small forward.

No word from the Celtics on Marcus Smart, so the rookie could still potentially make his preseason debut (and maybe start) against Sixers.
