TD Garden favorite Greg Stiemsma signs with Toronto Raptors

The Hornets waived the 28-year-old journeyman center just before the end of last season.

Stiemsma burst onto the NBA scene with the Celtics in 2011-12, earning the love of Boston crowds in a Scalabrine-esque fashion.  His play was also well deserving of the affection shown to him by Celtics fans, at one point late in the year he actually led the NBA in blocks per 48 minutes.

The TD Garden faithful will now get to witness a Stiemsma return multiple times this season as a member of the Atlantic Division-foe Raptors.
