Bill Simmons leaves NBA countdown for new ESPN show
Bill Simmons will no longer be talking hoops with Doris Burke, Doug Collins, Sage Steele, or the rest of the gang at NBA Countdown.
Of course, the basketball fiend will still be talking hoops as he debuts The Grantland Basketball Show in October, according to USA Today. The one hour program will be hosted by Simmons and is set to air at 8 p.m. throughout the NBA season. As you might expect, the show will feature various Grantland commentators and contributors.
Simmons is a highly knowledgable, polarizing basketball fan. His love for the Celtics is well known. The news likely either comes with excitement or great disdain (especially from those who are worried it may turn into a Celtics show).
Grantland provides some awesome pieces, and I think it would be great to see guys like Lowe and Simmons bring some of the angles they cover to the forefront on TV.
Excited about Simmons' new show?

Hopefully Simmons won't rock the stache |
