Ray McCallum leads Kings to Vegas Summer League championship
Before tip off of the Las Vegas NBA Summer League championship it was the Ben McLemore and Ra'shad James show for the Sacramento Kings:
However, once the game started it was all Ray McCallum whose 29 point effort led Sacramento's 77-68 come from behind victory over the Houston Rockets in the title game played at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center.
McCallum, (9-15 shooting, 9 rebounds) who should play a prominent role for the Kings this season after the departure of Isaiah Thomas, was also named the title game's MVP.
Nick Johnson (Arizona), who is looking like he could become the steal of this draft, paced the Rockets with 17 including another gravity defying highlight adding to his summer dunk resume in the loss.
It also should be noted that Johnson is the nephew of late Celtic great point guard Dennis Johnson.
