Doc Rivers might not return to Clippers next year

Doc Rivers has a bit of a history when it comes to being uncertain about his status as a coach past the current season. In the past his reasons have varied; fatigue, wanting to spend more time with family, not wanting to rebuild, etc. Judging by the quote below, you can also add horrific racism to the list of reasons that Doc might not want to return to his team.

Doc Rivers said he isn't sure what he might need to hear from Los Angeles Clippers' owner Donald Sterling to make him want to return next season as head coach.

"Don't know yet," Rivers said when posed with the question. "I'm just going to leave it at that."

Rivers is in his first season as head coach of the Clippers.

Rivers has not yet spoken to Sterling since the owner's racist comments were made public and he has no current plans to.
