Rajon Rondo is killing it at the free throw line lately

Throughout his career Rajon Rondo has not been very good at making free throws.  He has however shown steady progression over the last few seasons, going from 56.8% in 2010-11, to 59.7% in 2011-12, to 64.5% in 2012-13.  Like with his three pointers, it appears Rondo's time off after his ACL injury gave him plenty of opportunity to work on his foul shot.  So far this year he's made 73.7% of them, but the numbers are even better than that of late.

In his first two games back this season vs the Lakers and Magic Rondo failed to get to the free throw line.  Against the Heat in his third outing he went 1-4 from the charity stripe.  Since that time Rondo is 18-21 combined in his last 11 games, 85.7%.  On Monday night in Utah he went 6-6, and yesterday vs the Hawks he made 5-6; that's 91.7% over the last two contests.

Obviously this is a small sample size, but chances are it's a sign of notable improvement for Rondo.  Only once before in his career has he shot 5-6 or better from the foul line in consecutive regular season games, and that was back on April 15th and 16th, 2007.
