Detroit fans petition for Rasheed Wallace as Pistons Interim Head Coach
On Sunday, Maurice Cheeks got canned from his position as the Head Coach of the Detroit Pistons. This came as a surprise to some of the Pistons players, who heard the news via a tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski instead of directly from the Pistons management:
The Detroit Pistons have fired coach Mo Cheeks, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Anyways, the first thing I thought when I saw this was "how awesome would it be if they made Rasheed Wallace the new coach?"
Looks like I wasn't alone in my thoughts. Detroit Pistons fan James Kim got on www.whitehouse.gov and created a petition to make 'Sheed the new Interim Head Coach. Unfortunately, the petition was short lived, and was deleted by the whitehouse.gov moderators after getting around 164 signatures. When you visit its link, it says the petition was "removed from the site under our Moderation Policy because it is in violation of our Terms of Participation."
Darn it. Valiant effort, Pistons fans. I guess they are just going to have to stick it out with having Jon Loyer as the Interim Head Coach for the rest of the season. But imagine what could have been...
