Kelly Olynyk nominated for November "Rookie of the Month" in the Eastern Conference

The honor went to Philadelphia's Michael Carter-Williams, who averaged 17.2 points and 7.3 assists per game.  Sacramento's Ben McLemore won for the Western Conference, scoring 9.1 PPG.  According to ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg, Olynyk was one of just three players nominated in the East.  In 14 contests (six starts) Olynyk posted 7.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists over 22.6 minutes per game.

Given the Celtics desire to develop young players and build for the future, I'd say there's a very good chance Olynyk will see enough court time going forward to have a solid opportunity to take home the award at some point this season.

No word on whether or not Vitor Faverani was the other rookie to be nominated, although If he was I'm sure we would have heard.
