Carmelo Anthony calls Knicks' loss to Celtics an "embarrassment" and "a good old fashioned a$$ whipping"

Carmelo Anthony wasn't very happy about the New York Knicks' 114-73 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday. To use his exact terminology, he deemed it an "embarrassment," "a good old fashioned a$$ whipping," and that "everyone should be pissed off."

Sheridan Hoops' Michael Scotto collected a few of Melo's post-game quotes:

Celtics Life writer Mark Vandeusen summarized earlier as to why the loss was so bad for the Knicks, and particularly for Anthony. It was the Knicks' 3rd biggest home loss in franchise history, as well as their worst ever loss to Boston at Madison Square Garden. The Celtics' starting five outscored New York's starting five 89-29. And to top it all off, Carmelo Anthony notched his career worst +/- stat of -40.

Furthermore, Knicks coach Mike Woodson seemed completely blindsided by the loss. "I wish I could explain it," Woodson told ESPN New York after the game. "I didn't see this coming."

The win over the Knicks keeps Boston at first place in the Atlantic Division standings, and leaves New York in last place, 3.5 games behind the Celtics.
