The streak ends; Celtics lose to Bobcats 89-83

A hard fought loss at the TD Garden, as The Boston Celtics drop to 4-5 against to the Charlotte Bobcats 89-83. In a game that saw the return of Al Jefferson to the Bobcats line-up after getting sidelined with early season injuries, the Celtics faced a game opponent in the Bobcats who, much like the Celtics, are battling against preconceived notions about their quality this season.

Riding the a 4 game winning streak and shooting 60% in their last outing at home, the Celtics got off to a rocky start Wednesday shooting 36% to Charlottes 61%. The second quarter wasn’t much better as the Bobcats were able to stretch their lead to 14 at one point.

The bench which had been so key to the Celtics recent success had trouble finding their stride tonight but due to their all-out style of play were able to get the C’s within striking distance in the fourth quarter. In a game that never saw the Celtics with the lead, color commentator Tommy Heinsohn said it best tonight with, “they’re playing hard, they just can’t find the basket.”

While the final score didn't lead to the 5-game winning streak that at least half of Celtics fans were hoping for, this game was not without it's high points. Jeff Green scored a team high 19 points and Jordan Crawford continued to come up strong for the C's with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.
