Celtics come up short on comeback, fall 100-93 to Memphis


Memphis snapped Boston's two-game winning streak holding off a late-game surge to beat the Celtics 100-93.

Boston trailed by as much as 19, but pulled within three points with less than a minute to go before the Grizzlies hit key free throws to put the game away.

Leading the way for the Celtics were Jared Sullinger with 23 points and 12 rebounds, Jeff Green with 27 points and 7 rebounds and Avery Bradley also chipped in with 16 points.

For Memphis, Jerryd Bayless had 22 points off the bench and Mike Conley had 14 points and nine assists.

Boston falls to 6-11 on the year and faces off against Cleveland Friday.
