Clear the runway - Terry to make preseason debut against Celtics

Well, it looks like one piece of the Brooklyn trade is coming back to Boston this week. Jason Terry will be traveling with the Nets to play the Celtics in preseason action this week.

"It's gonna be great, getting back out there with my teammates," Terry said Sunday. "I've been out there in practice the last couple days. Everything's been going fine, no setbacks. So just being able to get out there in real live game action, it's gonna be good."

Despite getting a Celtics championship tattoo and filming some Reebok commercials that played ad nauseam at the TD Garden last year, Terry's stint with the Celtics did leave a lot to be desired. Despite a frustrating season that saw the Celtics battle for a .500 record along with the 7th seed in the east, the former sixth man of the year does look back fondly on his time in Boston.

"It's gonna be fun," Terry said of making his return to Boston. "For me, I was only there a year. The fans were great, the city was good to me. There's no hard feelings or ill-emotions. I'm gonna see some of my friends; Avery Bradley s almost like a brother to me. Seeing him will be good."

Terry, who is recovering from an off season surgery, has yet to play minutes in the Nets preseason. New head coach Jason Kidd is looking forward to what Terry can add off the bench.

"No matter who it's against, just want him to get some time on the floor and see him with some different guys, coming off the bench we'll see how he looks but just to give him as many minutes without stretching him too long."

The 36 year old SG plans on contributing in a big way this year, and last season shouldn't be indicative of what he can add to a team. JET is a career 37.9 percent shooter from 3-point range and won the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award in 2009.
