Brooklyn Nets to sit entire starting five in Boston tonight


We've known for a long time that Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett had no intentions of wasting their highly anticipated return to the Garden during the preseason.  It looks like rookie Head Coach Jason Kidd has decided not to give them any preferential treatment over his other starters, Deron Williams, Brook Lopez, and Joe Johnson.  From Tim Bontemps, who covers the Nets for the New York Post:

Coincidentally that same Brooklyn starting five also graces the cover of this week's just released issue of Sports Illustrated (above).  Boston fans may want to take note of the small print in the upper left corner as well: "Red Sox in 7."  Maybe after Paul Pierce goes out for a nice dinner he'll head over to Fenway for Game 1 of the World Series:
