NBA's two hottest teams set to square off at the Garden Sunday

To call this "unexpected" would be an understatement.
The Denver Nuggets beat Cleveland 111-103 on Saturday night for their 9th consecutive victory.  It's the longest current win streak in the NBA.  The owners of the league's 2nd best streak at the moment?  Your Boston Celtics, winners of 6 in a row.  Somebody's run will come to and when Boston and Denver meet Sunday at 6 pm (assuming the snow allows it, Saturday's Boston Bruins game at the TD Garden was postponed).

On an afternoon when ABC is airing Clippers vs. Knicks at 1 pm, and Lakers vs. Heat at 3:30, who would have guessed the day's marquee matchup would occur later in the evening?

Two weeks ago Rajon Rondo had just torn his ACL, Boston was in the midst of a 6 game slide, and the C's were faced with the daunting task of going up against the defending champion Heat.  At that time nobody could have even dreamed of the Nuggets and Celtics entering this game winners of a combined 15 straight.  In fact, according to Elias Sports Bureau, Boston is the first team in NBA history to have a win streak of 6 or more, followed by a losing streak of at least 6, and then immediately followed by another 6+ game winning streak.
