JSmoove Staying in Atlanta?
If you followed Celtics news and forums over the off-season, you were probably bombarded with a flood of Josh Smith trade speculation. It's looking more and more like all those conspiracy flag-football theories were for naught. The Hawks are off to a great start and Josh Smith is strongly considering an extended stay in his hometown of Atlanta.
For over 5 years, Atlanta has been stuck in no man's land: not good enough to truly contend for a title, and not bad enough to mix it up in the lottery. After new GM Danny Ferry traded away fringe-star Joe Johnson as well as draft bust Marvin Williams, many wondered if the Hawks could even be a solid playoff team. However, led by Al Horford and Josh Smith, they have put the doubts to rest. With tons of cap space opened up for 2013-2014, the Hawks look to go after max-players this off-season, such as Dwight Howard or Chris Paul. Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, JSmoove is starting to like the sound of "ATL fa Life".
So, what does this mean for Boston fans? All the pieces would have to fall perfectly into place for us to pull off a deal, and now that Atlanta is thriving, it appears unlikely that we'll be seeing Rondo to Smith oops next year, or even vice versa. Don't worry too much though, there's always the All Star game!
