No Rondo Tonight

Rajon Rondo sprained his ankle mid way through the 3rd quarter against Utah.

From Celtics radio play by play man Sean Grande:

I'm going to make the case that this is actually a good thing for Boston.  In the long run, one early regular season game in Brooklyn is no big deal.  And similar to last night's 4th quarter, it will give Doc Rivers a chance to see exactly what he has in Leandro Barbosa, and hopefully Courtney Lee as well.  An entire game without Rondo, on the road against a quality opponent (with an All-Star PG themselves in Deron Williams), should go a long way towards answering the question of whether or not the C's are still in need of a true backup point guard.

Boston has actually done surprisingly well without Rondo since he became a starter in his second season.  Since 2007-'08, they are 22-13 in games he's missed.
