Granger Disrespects Celtics
Nice Teeth, Bro |
Indiana Pacers Swingman Danny Granger proclaimed his
mediocre squad to be the 2nd best team in the East yesterday,
essentially saying it was a two team conference with the Heat and the Pacers
battling for supremacy, and then the Brooklyn Nets emerging as a threat with
their new starting lineup of Williams, Lopez, Humphries, Wallace and Joe
Johnson.
“It’s going to be tough,” he said. “Brooklyn, they are going
to be a threat. Obviously Miami is going to be there, but I think we still view
ourselves as a top-2 team in the East.”
Looking past the fact that the Pacers just rewarded Roy
Hibbert with a Ludicrous 4 years/58 Million dollar contract, Indiana appears to
be in danger of falling into Atlanta Hawks territory. Good enough to qualify
for a decent seed in the East, but ultimately lacking the makeup and starpower
to make any serious noise in the playoffs. Granger’s comments sound like they
are coming from a player with a higher view of himself than his play has
merited. He has played at an All Star level in small spurts, but is unable to
put it together and make “the leap”. His utter disrespect for the reloaded
Celtics ring similar to the comments David West had for the C’s last season
when he turned down more money per season in Green to play in the Midwest “for
a team with a chance to win”. How did that one work out for you, David? And
Granger, do something on the court before you go running your mouth.
