Celtics Hold off Grizzlies in OT, 116-110
Paul Pierce scored 28 points on 9/13 shooting as the Celtics defeated the Grizzlies in overtime on the road, 116-110. The C's are now 3-0 in overtime this year.
With the final seconds ticking away, the Celtics were able to take a four point lead. However Rudy Gay's two quick jump shots tied the game and sent the contest into overtime. The Celtics had a chance to respond before the end of regulation but Pierce failed on the final shot.
However, Boston was able to control the tempo in overtime and come away with a win, 116-110.
Rondo was one of six Celtics in double figures, finishing with a double double - 11 points and 17 assists. Nate Robinson came up huge off the bench with 15 points. Shaq had an efficient night to say the least - scoring 18 points and pulling in 6 rebounds in just 22 minutes. KG also had a big game with 18 points and 9 rebounds.
In a loss, Tony Allen performed well against his former team, putting up 11 points on 4/7 shooting with a game high +11 in the +/- category.
The Grizzlies also had six players in double figures - led by Rudy Gay (22) and Zach Randolph (21 points and 11 rebounds)
Boston improves to 8-2 and goes 3-1 on the road trip. They have the best record in the Eastern Conference. They next play Wednesday night against John Wall and the Washington Wizards.
