Flakers Win Game 1
Just an awful game to watch. The Celtics problems all season were their free-throw shooting, turnovers, and most importantly, lack of rebounding. This was exacerbated in the first half.
- Celts were outrebounded by 8 in the first half. Part of it goes back to it being a "make-miss" league as people so aptly put it. The Celtics were only shooting 41% at intermission. The Flakers played solid defense. Everytime Boston was down 1 and trying to take the lead they'd fall short. I think their only lead of the game was 2-0.
- After Artest, Fisher and Bean picked up 2 fouls in the first quarter, I thought the Celtics had an excellent opportunity to gain some ground. The Flaker bench is atrocious outside Lamar Scrotum. But with Shannon Brown, Farmar and Walton out there, the Celtics didn't take the advantage I thought they could.
- No one loves Michael Finley more than me, but his play in the first quarter was horrendous. I don't think he should see anymore time this series. For as well as he played (mostly shot) in the regular season, he's looked awful in the postseason. Give those minutes to Nate Robinson.
- I had a needle and was contemplating the beginning of sowing my left eye shut at the half rather than watch that halftime show.
- Nice
blockfoul on Bean on Tony's dunk attempt. Never knew you were allowed to hit a guy like that at the basket. If Bean was on offense, that's a foul every time. - Rasheed gets a T- does anyone notice Bean throwing his hands up in disgust at every call that doesn't go his way? It's a disgrace to the game and to the refs. But they'll never call him for a Tech in this series.
- Artest blocked the Davis layup. That's great, but anyone blatantly see the ball hit the end line before Farmar threw the long pass to Gasol? Come on, that was right there to make the call!
- I mean do we really need another movie tied into the playoffs? Apparently Iron Man 2, The Prince of Persia, The A-Team, Avatar's release onto DVD weren't enough. Now we have to be inundated with Grown Ups, the piss-poor Adam Sandler- Kevin James movie that you couldn't pay me to see. Nor do I want to hear what they have to say about basketball. Can't we just watch a playoff game without seeing a movie tied into it? Is that possible anymore?
PS- A special thanks from the bottom of my heart, to the Buffoon, for making this so much more difficult than it really needs to be. You fucked us when you were the GM of the Celtics, and continued to do so after you left Boston.
