Authorities expected to reveal the mastermind & motive in shooting of David Ortiz

According to the New York Post's Sara Dorn, authorities in the Dominican Republic are expected to reveal the mastermind and motive behind the shooting of former Red Sox star, David Ortiz sometime this week. Nine suspects are currently being detained, with a 10th individual, known as "The Surgeon", is still at large.


There has been much speculation relative to the reason for the shooting of the former Red Sox slugger - and who ordered the hit. It appears we will have that information in the coming days (per NY Post's Sara Dorn):

And Dominican prosecutors say they will seek the maximum 40-year sentence for the alleged triggerman, Rolfi Ferreira Cruz.

The suspects were led into a Dominican courtroom Friday wearing vests and helmets to protect them from an angry mob upset about the attack on the local sports hero, the Globe reported.
